Family and friend getaways are all about making memories and being carefree. After all, you need to escape from time to time. However, it can be difficult to decide where to go for your next family and friend getaway. Especially since everyone needs to agree on the destination and get the same amount of time off. While I can’t help you with all the small details like vacation time from work, I can help with choosing a destination and creating a personalized itinerary. Today, I am sharing some amazing family and friend getaways you should consider for your next vacation.

Amazing Family and Friend Getaways to Consider for Your Next Vacation

Montreal – An Amazing Family and Friend Getaway

Amazing Family and Friend Getaways to Consider for Your Next Vacation - Montreal, Canada

If you’re looking for a destination that captures the charm of a European getaway without the long-haul flight, Montreal is the perfect choice! This vibrant Canadian city blends old-world European architecture with a modern, cosmopolitan atmosphere. This makes it an ideal option for a family and friend getaway.

Start your adventure by wandering through Old Montreal (Vieux-Montréal). It is a beautifully preserved historic district lined with cobblestone streets, stunning 17th-century buildings, and charming cafés.

Visit Place Jacques-Cartier. This lively square is filled with street performers, flower vendors, and inviting terraces perfect for people-watching. Stop by Notre-Dame Basilica. The basilica is an architectural masterpiece with intricate wood carvings and breathtaking stained-glass windows that tell the story of Montreal’s rich history.

For a bit of adventure, hike up Mount Royal. The hike offers stunning panoramic views from its summit. Whether you go for a morning stroll or a sunset visit, the sight of the Montreal skyline stretching out before you is truly magical. If you visit in the fall, the changing leaves create a breathtaking backdrop. And the winter transforms the area into a wonderland for snowshoeing and ice skating.

Montreal is also a paradise for food lovers. For lunch or dinner, indulge in some classic poutine. It is a hearty dish of fries, cheese curds, and gravy.

Check out these other amazing things to do in Montreal.

Iceland

Visiting Iceland is like stepping into another world. Dramatic landscapes are filled with glaciers, volcanic craters, hot springs, and geysers. It all offers a surreal experience that’s unlike any other destination for family and friend getaways. Whether you’re soaking in the warmth of a natural geothermal pool or marveling at the powerful waterfalls cascading down lush cliffs, Iceland’s natural beauty is truly breathtaking.

The ideal time to visit for a once-in-a-lifetime experience is between October and March. This is when the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) paint the night sky in mesmerizing shades of green, pink, and purple. These otherworldly lights dance across the dark Arctic sky. The bright lights create a magical display that’s beautiful and deeply moving.

Aside from the Northern Lights, Iceland offers a wide array of unforgettable experiences. A visit to Húsavík is a must for anyone interested in whale watching. During the summer months, you’ll have the opportunity to spot humpback whales, minke whales, and even blue whales.

While in Húsavík, don’t miss the chance to visit the Arctic Henge. It is an impressive monument inspired by Norse mythology. The structure was built to align with the sun’s movements. It creates a unique experience for visitors, particularly during the solstices.

Explore the Golden Circle, a popular route showcasing the country’s most iconic sites, including Thingvellir National Park. Another must-see site is the Blue Lagoon This geothermal spa is surrounded by black lava fields. Relax in the warm, mineral-rich waters while taking in the striking surroundings there.

No trip to Iceland would be complete without exploring its spectacular waterfalls. Gullfoss (Golden Falls) is one of the most famous. Another breathtaking waterfall is Seljalandsfoss. Visitors can walk behind the cascade for an incredible, close-up experience.

Lapland is an amazing mom getaway for any family and friend vacation!

Cartagena, Columbia

Cartagena is a city nestled on Colombia’s Caribbean coast. This city has undergone a remarkable transformation. Cartagena is now a vibrant and welcoming destination rich in history, culture, and charm. Whether you’re wandering through its colorful streets or soaking in the beauty of its coastal views, Cartagena is a place that will captivate your senses during a family and friend getaway.

One of the top attractions in the city is the iconic San Felipe Castle (Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas). This castle is a 16th-century fortress that stands as a testament to the city’s colonial past. This UNESCO World Heritage site is a must-see for history enthusiasts. The castle is a sprawling complex of walls, ramparts, and underground tunnels.

As you explore its vast grounds, you’ll encounter hidden passageways and secret bunkers. Each one tells the story of Cartagena’s strategic importance during colonial times.

In addition to the historical sites, Cartagena is also known for its vibrant Old Town. Stroll through colorful colonial-era streets. Admire beautifully preserved architecture. And relax in charming plazas.

The Walled City (Ciudad Amurallada) is a UNESCO-listed area where cobblestone streets are lined with pastel-colored buildings, boutique shops, lively cafés, and street vendors selling local crafts. You’ll feel as though you’ve stepped back in time as you explore this enchanting part of the city. Especially since every corner holds a new discovery.

For a more tranquil experience, take a short boat ride to Isla Grande. This idyllic island, part of the Rosario Islands archipelago, is a paradise for those seeking relaxation and natural beauty. The serene, crystal-clear blue waters and white sandy beaches are perfect for unwinding. The island’s lush vegetation and vibrant marine life provide plenty of opportunities for snorkeling, kayaking, or simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

St. Lucia – A Beautiful Family and Friend Getaway

Amazing Family and Friend Getaways to Consider for Your Next Vacation - Marigot Bay in St. Lucia

St. Lucia is a true paradise in the Caribbean. This family and friend getaway option offers a stunning mix of natural beauty, tropical landscapes, and rich cultural experiences. Known for its pristine beaches, lush rainforests, and dramatic mountains, this island is an ideal destination for nature lovers, adventure seekers, and those looking for a relaxing getaway. Whether you’re unwinding on golden sands or exploring the island’s vibrant ecosystems, St. Lucia’s charm will captivate you from the moment you arrive.

One of the most notable features of St. Lucia is its incredible beaches. But what really sets this destination apart is the abundance of rainforests, botanical gardens, and cascading waterfalls. The island’s dense rainforests are home to unique flora and fauna, making them perfect for hiking and eco-tourism.

A breathtaking sight on the island is Marigot Bay. This serene and picturesque harbor is one of the most beautiful in the world.

However, St. Lucia’s most iconic landmark is undoubtedly the Pitons. They are two towering volcanic spires that rise dramatically from the Caribbean Sea. These UNESCO World Heritage-listed mountains are among the most recognizable natural formations in the Caribbean, and their beauty is unparalleled.

In addition to its natural beauty, St. Lucia also offers a rich cultural experience. The island’s history, from its indigenous Carib and Arawak peoples to its colonial past, is reflected in its architecture, cuisine, and festivals. Be sure to explore the charming town of Soufrière, where you can experience local life, try delicious Caribbean dishes like fried fish with provisions (root vegetables), and shop for handmade crafts. If you’re lucky enough to visit during the St. Lucia Jazz Festival, you’ll be treated to world-class performances against the backdrop of the island’s stunning scenery.

Now that the holiday season is coming to an end, you may be dreaming about a little time away with family. Somewhere warm with lots of opportunities to relax on a soft sandy beach. Well, soft sandy beaches are everywhere on the islands of Antigua and Barbuda. So, you will never be more than a few steps away from one when you are vacationing there. While all the beaches are phenomenal, there are a couple on each island that offers something unique and magical. Therefore, those are the ones you will definitely want to make time for. Allow me to plan an extraordinary family vacation on any of the Antigua and Barbuda beaches for your next trip!

Amazing Antigua and Barbuda Beaches for Your Family Vacation

Best Beaches in Antigua

Half Moon Bay

Amazing Antigua and Barbuda Beaches for Your Family Vacation - Half Moon Bay Beach in Antigua

Half Moon Bay can be found along the southern end of Antigua. It is not as crowded as some of the other beaches on the island. Plus, it is one of the best Antigua and Barbuda beaches you can visit.

You can simply relax on the pink sand on this beach. But you can also venture out into the water for a little swimming and surfing. It is important to note that the water can get rough at this beach. So, you should be cautious at all times and never go out if it is too rough.

Check out a few of the best things to do in Antigua and Barbuda besides the beaches.

Hawksbill

There are four different beaches at Hawksbill. So, you can always find a stretch of sand to meet your needs.

You should be aware that the fourth beach is clothing optional. You won’t want to choose that one if you are vacationing with children.

A little way out in the water are craggy red rocks. I recommend taking a picture of them during your time there. The water is a lot calmer at these beaches, so swimming can easily be done by the smallest of vacationers.

Dickenson Bay

This beach can be found to the north of St. John’s. It is the perfect choice if you are traveling with smaller children.

There is a plethora of water sports at this beach. And the beach bars and restaurants are perfect for when everyone is hungry. I recommend strolling along this beach at night because it is one of the best places to watch the sunset on Antigua.

Four foods to try when you are relaxing near Antigua and Barbuda beaches during your family vacation.

Best Beaches in Barbuda

Barbuda Pink Sand

Amazing Antigua and Barbuda Beaches for Your Family Vacation - Girl Making Sand Angel on Pink Sand Beach in Barbuda

Have you ever heard about Barbuda’s pink sand beach? It does exist for real and it’s of unimaginable beauty, still wild and untouched. And yes, if you can only choose one, this is the best of the Antigua and Barbuda beaches!

There are only a few hotels on the island. You can get there by ferry on your own or on an organized tour. I would certainly stay there a couple of nights, to enjoy it fully.

As a side note, besides basking on the dreamy beaches Barbuda offers one of the biggest Frigate bird sanctuaries in the world. Thousands of Frigate birds gather during mating season. You will see their inflated red necks which serve the males to attract females. It’s simply a spectacular show to watch.

Imagine making memories with your family while relaxing on one of these beautiful Antigua or Barbuda beaches. Or participating in one of the many watersports. You will cherish these memories forever!

Are you dreaming of a family vacation in paradise? There are so many amazing tropical islands you can visit that your family will love. However, I recommend the tropical islands of Antigua and Barbuda. These islands are located in the heart of the Caribbean. They are about a thousand miles to the east of Jamaica. And half that distance from Trinidad on the coast of South America. If you’re dreaming of a tropical island vacation, it may be time to consider traveling to Antigua and Barbuda! Today, I am sharing a couple things you should consider doing when you choose Antigua and Barbuda travel for your next family vacation.

Dreaming of Antigua and Barbuda Travel for Your Family Vacation?

Antigua Travel

The island of Antigua was born out of the sea by a volcano about 30 million years ago. Therefore, this is a young island in geologic time.

Reefs formed on the northern flank of this volcanic island. Therefore, the greater part of Antigua is low lying and is composed of limestone rock.

The highest point of Antigua is 1,319 feet in the south-west and is called Boggy Peak.

Antigua is 108 square miles. The population of this island is almost 80,000.

Since there are so many people on this island, your family will never have a problem finding something to do. This is why so many people like yourself choose Antigua travel over Barbuda.

Things to Do in Antigua

Visit Nelson’s Dockyard National Park – One of the Best Things to Do While Traveling to Antigua and Barbuda

Dreaming of Antigua and Barbuda Travel for Your Family Vacation - Nelson's Dockyard National Park in Antigua

Nelson’s Dockyard National Park is one of UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites. This 18th century British naval base is still in use today.

I recommend exploring the museum to learn more about the maritime past of Antigua. Then head out on a hike on one of the trails within Shirley Heights. Those hiking trails offer gorgeous panoramic views of the island.

Relax on a Beach – Much Easier in Antigua than Barbuda During Travel!

There are 365 beaches on Antigua. This is quite a few more beaches than Barbuda has for your family vacation.

Dickenson Bay is the perfect spot if your family loves beach activities and cocktails. Half Moon Bay is known for its pink sand. And Darkwood Beach is one of the best beaches for snorkeling.

I recommend doing a little beach hopping, so you can find your favorite beach in Antigua for your family vacation.

Here are the top beaches for Antigua and Barbuda travel.

Explore St. John’s

The capital city of Antigua is St. John’s. This beautiful city is full of historical buildings, St. John’s Cathedral, and local markets.

I recommend shopping in the local markets. They are also the perfect place to purchase fresh local produce and duty-free items.

You won’t find as large of a city when you travel to Barbuda, so if you want to experience this area, you must visit Antigua.

Foods you must try while traveling to Antigua and Barbuda.

Barbuda Travel

Barbuda became separated from Antigua by about 28 miles when the sea-levels of the world rose considerably in about 10,000 BC. This island is 62 square miles in size.

The limestone Highlands of Barbuda rise to only 125 feet. It is relatively unpopulated with only approximately 1,300 people.

Today, parts of Barbuda are geologically flooded, which forms interesting lagoons. This island may be the largest breeding and nesting colony of the Magnificent Frigate Bird in the world.

Barbuda supports a tremendous diversity of native habitats. Reef-fringed Barbuda may be one of the best kept ecological secrets in the West Indies. The island’s rugged scenery, beautiful beaches, (one at least 12 miles long), lagoons, and abundant wildlife may be a resource as valuable as its fisheries.

Traveling to Barbuda is perfect if you want solitude and plenty of time to relax. Of course, you can combine travel to Antigua and Barbuda to get the best of both worlds during your family vacation!

Things to Do in Barbuda

Visit the Frigate Bird Sanctuary – Unique Experience in Barbuda Not Antigua Travel

Dreaming of Antigua and Barbuda Travel for Your Family Vacation - Male Frigate Bird in Barbuda

The Frigate Bird Sanctuary is located within Codrington Lagoon. This sanctuary is one of the world’s largest nesting colonies for frigate birds.

Take a boat tour through the lagoon to see these fabulous birds up close.

Have Fun on Pink Sand Beach

There may not be as many beaches on Barbuda, but that doesn’t mean you won’t have fun in the sand during your family vacation.

Over at Pink Sand Beach, your family can have plenty of adventures. Walk along the crushed coral shoreline. Snorkel in the crystal-clear water to see marine life. Or take a scenic boat tour to learn more about the area.

There is so much happening in Antigua and Barbuda. You can do it all or do as little as you want during your family vacation.

Check out these other tropical destinations for your next family vacation!

When is the best time to start planning for a Spring Break family vacation? Well, the chill of fall and winter may be just setting in. But it’s never too early to start thinking about your family’s Spring Break vacation! Whether you’re trying to put together a trip for this upcoming Spring Break. Or are already looking ahead to next year. I have three family vacation ideas that parents and kids alike are sure to love. Check out my suggestions below to kick-start your Spring Break family vacation planning!

Spring Break Family Vacations Everyone Will Love

Beaches Resorts for a Fabulous Spring Break Family Vacation

Spring Break Family Vacations Everyone Will Love - Family Having Fun on the Beach

Have you ever been to a luxury all-inclusive resort? There’s nothing quite like being completely pampered on your vacation. Without having to pay extra for the extras thanks to the all-inclusive family vacation packages these resorts offer!

The best part is Beaches is one of those kid-friendly travel destinations you have been dreaming about!

Beaches Resorts allows everyone to enjoy all the luxury of an all-inclusive while on a family vacation. Every detail of these resorts is designed with families in mind. The family-friendly activities include a range of water sports, kid-friendly pools, nightly shows, and an array of dining options (that even the grown-ups will love).

I love the Beaches Resort in Turks and Caicos the best. Nothing beats the glass-clear blue water there! Especially during Spring Break.

Keep in mind, though, that Beaches Resorts usually need to be booked at least a year in advance. So, now is a great time to book a stay for Spring Break next year.

Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines

Spring Break Family Vacations Everyone Will Love - Royal Caribbean Cruise Line Children Pool Area

Royal Caribbean is another great Spring Break option for families. This family friendly cruise line has something for everyone.
Upscale while still being accessible, Royal Caribbean, owns some of the largest cruise ships in the world. And they offer almost endless activities on board. A few of the most popular family-friendly activities include zip lining, rock climbing, surfing (on simulated waves!), ice skating, and more.

You can never go wrong when you choose a cruise for your next kid-friendly holiday. Of course, you don’t need to cruise during Spring Break. Almost any time of the year is perfect for this type of vacation with kids.

Western Europe

Spring Break is a great time to combine learning with a little (or a lot!) of fun. I recommend planning a getaway to Western Europe for a culture-rich journey that’ll awe the whole family.
I love Italy, Ireland, and the UK for family friendly vacations. These destinations are tourist friendly. Chock full of interesting cultural and historical landmarks. And relatively easy to navigate with kids in tow.
These are only a couple of the perfect destinations you can choose from when you plan a family vacation for Spring Break. There are quite a few other Spring Break destinations your family will love. You may even want to consider one of the underrated Spring Break destinations for families. Whichever one you choose, I would love to personalize your family’s itinerary for your next family friendly adventure.

Do you love heading down to the Caribbean for a little fun in the sun with your family? If you do, the island of Curacao has everything you need to have fun and make memories! There are so many things to do in Curacao during an amazing family vacation. I am going to share some of the best things to do in Curacao with you today. This will allow you to start considering your options when it comes time to plan your incredible family vacation. And don’t worry, if you have me plan your family’s vacation, I will be personalizing your itinerary, so it meets your needs. This way you will be able to make more memories than you thought during this time away from home.

Check out this sample itinerary of a family vacation in Curacao to see what your days can look like!

Best Things to Do in Curacao During an Amazing Family Vacation

Go Scuba Diving

One of the best things to do in Curacao is scuba diving. If your family isn’t certified for scuba diving, you will need to become certified before diving too deep. Although, you can always go snorkeling instead.

When you are out in the water, you will all have the chance to see plenty of colorful coral, dolphins, stingrays, and a sunken ship or two.

The two closest diving sites are Porto Mari and Blauwbaai. All the others need to be reached via boat.

Walk Over the Queen Emma Pontoon Bridge

Best Things to Do in Curacao During an Amazing Family Vacation - Queen Emma Pontoon Bridge

The Queen Emma Pontoon Bridge goes across St. Anna Bay. It is a floating pedestrian bridge that connects Punda and Otrobanda. The bridge is supported by sixteen pontoon boats.

This bridge swings open to let ships pass through to leave the bay. The movement of the bridge is how it got its nickname, Swinging Old Lady.

If you happen to be on one side of the bridge when it opens and need to get back to the other side, you can always hop on a water taxi. Those water taxis don’t charge a fee for this service.

Wander Around Handelskade

Handelskade is the pier that can be seen on every postcard for Curacao. Wandering around this area will have you seeing Colonial Dutch buildings painted in bright colors.

I recommend sitting outside one of the cafes here to watch the Queen Emma Pontoon Bridge swing open and closed.

Relax at Cas Abao Beach

There are plenty of beaches to choose from while on a family vacation in Curacao. Cas Abao Beach is one of the favorites for both locals and tourists. There is plenty of shade around this beach. Plus, the nearby restaurant ensures you never go hungry.

I recommend snorkeling while at this beach. Out in the water you can see sea turtles, eagle rays, and lots of tropical fish.

Explore Christoffel National Park

Christoffel National Park was created when three plantations merged together in 1978. You can easily drive through this park to see all the plants, flowers, and wildlife. However, hiking the trails will allow you to see things you will miss while driving.

I recommend taking the time to really explore this park. It is the best way to capture a glimpse of the Curacao white-tailed deer and barn owls.

Wander Around Shete Boka National Park

There is more than one national park in Curacao. Your family might as well make memories in both parks during your vacation.

You will want to see the ten pocket bays filled with sea turtles within Shete Boka National Park. The best pocket bays are Boka Tabla and Boka Pistol. But feel free to check them all out when you are there.

Visit Little Curacao

Little Curacao, or Klein Curacao, is an uninhabited island not too far from the southeastern shore of Curacao. This is an excellent day trip opportunity for your family.

You will all want to go swimming in the crystal-clear water. On land, you can check out the ruins of the lighthouse. It is one of the only things that remains from when people lived on the island.

Take a Tour of the Hato Caves

Touring the Hato Caves is one of the best things to do in Curacao. These caves are full of stalagmites and stalactites. You will walk through narrow passages, as you go deeper into the caves.

This may feel slightly intimidating at first but keep going. Once you get further into the caves, you will discover intricate rock formations and small pools.

As you walk through the caves, your tour guide will share the history of them. Part of the history is runaway slaves used these caves as hiding places.

Visit with the Flamingos

Flamingos are everywhere in Curacao. However, if you want to see a lot of flamingos in one place, you must be prepared to visit certain areas of the island. The best places to see flamingos include Sint Willibrordus and Sint Michiel.

They are both flamingo sanctuaries, so there won’t be a shortage of these pink animals.

Another option is Jan Kok. In this area, you will also see a monument that honors the Freedom Fighters. They were enslaved salt pan workers who began an uprising on the island.

Visit an Aloe Vera Farm

Have you always been fascinated by how well aloe vera works? Well, during a family vacation in Curacao, you can visit an aloe vera farm.

During your farm visit, you will learn how aloe vera is grown and all its benefits. You will also tour the factory to learn how the plant is processed.

Check Out the Curacao Liqueur Distillery

As an adult, you will be more than happy to check out the Curacao Liqueur Distillery. You will find this distillery inside an estate from the 1800s.

This is the only distillery on the island that still makes alcohol using Lahara orange peels.

I recommend taking a tour that offers the history of the distillery, cocktail workshops, and a tasting. This will ensure you get the full experience during your visit.

Paint a Chichi Doll

Best Things to Do in Curacao During an Amazing Family Vacation - Chichi Doll

One of the most fascinating things to do in Curacao is painting a Chichi doll. Your family will have fun painting their own dolls to take home.

The Chichi doll represents femininity, strength, diversity, and creativity. So, you can see why painting them can create such wonderful memories during your family vacation.

The best place to paint these dolls is Serena’s Art Factory.

Taste the Local Cuisine

Your family will discover many unique flavors when you are dining out in Curacao. The cuisine served on this island is a fusion of flavors from Spanish, Dutch, and African influences.

A couple of the dishes you should try while on a family vacation in Curacao include keshi yena, bitterballen, fried red snapper, and iguana. Oh, and you won’t want to skip tasting green rum either!

Walk Along the Walkways at Curacao’s Mangroves

Curacao Rif Mangrove Park is located in Willemstad. It is a protected area filled with walkways that wind through the mangrove forest.

You can take a guided tour along those walkways with your family. Or head out on a tour via kayak.

Visit Fort Beekenburg

If you are looking for history, one of the best things to do in Curacao is to visit Fort Beekenburg. This fort was constructed back in 1706. While it is no longer in use, it is considered the best-preserved ruins in the Caribbean.

There are tons of artifacts inside this fort. Wander around and learn the history of the fort through the artifacts. Don’t forget to check out the architecture, as well as the cannons and barrier walls. You never know what you will discover.

These are some of the best things to do in Curacao, but there are many others we can include during your family vacation. All you need to do is let me know what your family is interested in, and I will personalize your itinerary accordingly.

So, are you ready to have me create a personalized family vacation itinerary for your trip to Curacao or another destination?

If you said yes, I would like to invite you to click here to schedule a personalized family vacation planning session with me. When you click the link, you will be taken directly to my digital calendar to schedule a time that is convenient for you.

Family vacations in the Caribbean usually mean a trip to Jamaica, Bahamas, or Aruba. However, there are plenty of other islands that are worthy of the memories you will be making. Curacao is one of those tropical islands. This island isn’t as crowded as some of the other islands in the Caribbean. During a vacation in Curacao, you can make memories with your family in numerous areas around the island. Plus, Curacao is full of history, culture, and delicious cuisine. Today, I am sharing a sample itinerary for Curacao. This is to give you an idea of what is possible during a family vacation in Curacao. Your itinerary may look quite different for your visit and that’s completely okay. I will be more than happy to personalize your Curacao family vacation itinerary, so it meets your travel needs.

Can’t get away to Curacao, this year with your family? Consider one of these beach towns in the US instead!

Make Memories with Your Family During an Amazing Vacation in Curacao

Day One: Willemstad

On the first day of your amazing family vacation in Curacao, you will fly into Willemstad. After collecting your luggage, you will check into your hotel.

The rest of the day is yours to do as you wish. I recommend taking advantage of the pool and other amenities at your hotel. Or head to the beach to get some relaxing done under the shining sun.

Basically, choose whatever will get your family vacation started in the right direction!

Day Two: Willemstad

Today’s family adventure will be a walking tour of Willemstad. Start at the Queen Emma Pontoon Bridge. Other stops during your walk will include the Penha house, Rift Fort, Renaissance Mall, and Gouverneur’s Bar.

Don’t skip the Curacao National History Museum. It’s a great place to learn more about this island.

In the middle of your walking tour, you will want to stop at the Old Market in the Punda District. Plasa Bieu is an excellent place for dining on authentic Curacaoan cuisine. Especially if you choose fresh seafood.

If you are near the Old Market earlier in the day, no worries. There are plenty of street vendors all around this city. You can always stop at one of those when your family is hungry during your vacation in Curacao.

Day Three: Mambo Beach

Make Memories with Your Family During an Amazing Vacation in Curacao - Mambo Beach in Curacao

After a long day of walking, your family will be more than happy for a beach day! Mambo Beach is one of the best beaches in Curacao. It is also the largest. So, while Mambo Beach is crowded, there is always an empty space.

The best part about spending the day at this beach is you can easily pop into a nearby restaurant for food.

Oh, and once dinner time hits, many of the beach bars offer live entertainment. Find one of these bars, so your day at the beach doesn’t need to end before the sun goes down.

Day Four: Christoffel National Park

Getting the wiggles out may be necessary after a long day of relaxing on the beach. Thankfully, Mount Christoffel is waiting for your family to hike to its summit.

You must begin this family adventure early. No one is allowed to begin the hike after ten in the morning. This is due to the heat that is present during the afternoon.

This is an easy hike that everyone in your family can do. It will take about an hour to reach the summit and then another hour to get back to the bottom. Add in a little time at the top for pictures, snacks, and family fun.

After your hike, consider heading over to the salt flats of Jan Kok to see the flamingos. Or enjoy a little downtime at the Savonet Museum.

If you are tired of the heat, the Hato Caves are the perfect option. This underground world is full of stalactites, stalagmites, and cooler temperatures.

Day Five: Playa Grandi

Today will be another water day, as your family heads to Playa Grandi to make some memories. Only, your memories on this day will include lots of sea turtles.

Grab your snorkel gear and head out into the water to an area that isn’t full of tourists. That will give you the best views of the turtles, while allowing them to have a little extra space too.

I recommend taking a waterproof camera, so you can capture a few pictures of your family with the sea turtles.

Day Six: Santa Martha Bay View Lookout and Playa Porto Mari

Head out early on day six of your family vacation in Curacao. This way you can arrive at Santa Martha Bay View Lookout before too many other people get there.

Drive directly to the lookout and spend a little time enjoying the views.

When you get tired of the views, or when the kids get antsy, head to St. Willibrordus to see the flamingos. Don’t forget to stop at the Church of St. Willibrordus in between visits with the flamingos.

This afternoon you will go from flamingos to pigs. Those pigs spend their time at Playa Porto Mari. Although, there are days when the pigs do not come out of their hiding places to spend time on the sand.

Hopefully, you will be lucky enough to have the pigs close by during your visit. If not, you will be able to enjoy the sun, sand, and water one final time before heading home.

Day Seven: Willemstad

On your last day of vacation in Curacao, you will wake up one last time at your hotel. Depending on the time of your flight, you may have time to do one or two more things in this city before heading to the airport to fly home.

This is the perfect time to grab those last family photos and souvenirs. You may start to reminisce about everything you did during this vacation, while also starting to plan your next family trip.

I would love to help you make all those memories with your family, as you explore Curacao or another destination. I personalize the itineraries for all my clients, so everyone gets to see and do what they want while on vacation. So, you definitely won’t get the same vacation as your neighbor, friend, or work colleague. And that is a good thing!

Are you ready to start cruising the Caribbean with your family? Do you want to make memories that matter while seeing some of the most beautiful islands in the world? Well, I have discovered some of the best islands in the Caribbean. Each one is worthy of family vacations. And they all have plenty of things to do when you are off the ship and on the island. Today, I am going to share the best islands to visit when you are cruising the Caribbean.

Cruising the Caribbean? Check Out These Best Islands

Aruba

Almost everyone I know wants to spend a few days on the island of Aruba. And who can blame them for wanting to be in paradise!

Time in Aruba can be spent relaxing on the sand, participating in water sports, or mingling with new friends at a beach bar. Visit Oranjestad for cheese tasting adventures. Head to the Butterfly Farm to see a tropical jungle. And go kitesurfing in Boca Grandi if you are searching for a few thrills.

There is no limit to what you can do in Aruba while cruising the Caribbean.

British Virgin Islands

It is all about the culture, nature, and laid-back vibes in the British Virgin Islands. There are four main islands, as well as approximately sixty smaller islands for you to visit there.

The best time to visit these islands is outside of hurricane season. If you plan your trip right, you can avoid the storms and enjoy the island activities. Some of those activities include walking through the rainforests, snorkeling near coral reefs, and sailing out on the crystal-clear water.

Antigua and Barbuda

Cruising the Caribbean? Check Out These Best Islands - Pink Sand Beach in Barbuda

These two islands are known for their sparkling white beaches, as well as lush rainforests. A stop in St. John’s Port is exactly what you will need when cruising the Caribbean. As soon as you step off the ship, you will be ready to explore all the sights.

On Antigua, a visit to Nelson’s Dockyard is a must. And yet, on Barbuda, it is all about the tiny pink seashells on Pink Sand Beach and the drinks at John’s Beach Bar. There are many other beaches you can visit while in Antigua and Barbuda too!

You won’t need to spend all your time near the shoreline either. Your family can make memories while caving and hiking on the northern shore of Barbuda.

Saint Barthelemy

Saint Barthelemy is mainly known as St. Barts to many travelers. This is one of the smaller Caribbean Islands. There is still plenty to do on the island. Plus, the best part is you can really get to know the locals during your visit.

Oh, and you may run into a celebrity or two during your visit. They love spending time on this Caribbean Island.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

The main island of Saint Vincent is the main draw in this part of the Caribbean. However, you may want to consider heading out to one of the nine inhabited islands nearby.

One of the favorite things to do on this Caribbean Island is sailing around Admiralty Bay. During that sailing adventure, you can stop at Bequia Island to visit the turtle sanctuary. If your family wants to snorkel, I recommend a trip to Tobago Cays. You can see lots of marine life near the reef there.

These are the best islands to check out while cruising the Caribbean. You can easily visit them, as well as many of the other Caribbean Islands during a family cruise. Simply let me know where your family wants to go, and I will personalize your family trip itinerary during a cruise that visits those destinations.

So, are you ready to have me create a personalized family vacation itinerary for one of these islands or another destination?

If you said yes, I would like to invite you to click here to schedule a personalized family vacation planning session with me. When you click on the link, you will be taken to my digital calendar to schedule a time that is convenient for you.

Are you looking at the calendar and wondering where the year has gone already?? The months just keep flying by as we keep checking things off our to-do list and taking care of the kids. Well, before you flip past too many more months, you may want to think about your next family vacation. It is probably time you spend a little extra time away from the office while making memories with your family. You can easily take a family vacation during the summer. But if you want to escape the crowds, the fall can be a better time. Plus, it gives you extra time to plan! Today, I am going to share the best fall family vacations in 2023. One of these vacations should interest your family for a little much-needed time away from home.

Best Fall Family Vacations in 2025

Punta Mita, Mexico

Luxurious vacations are a must once you reach a certain age, and Punta Mita doesn’t disappoint! This secluded vacation destination in Mexico may quickly become your new favorite family vacation destination.

Upscale resorts are located amongst all the multimillion-dollar homes. You can stay steps from the white sandy beach. This will be perfect for those long morning walks on the sand and late evening strolls. Oh, and the kids will be thrilled with the opportunity to have surfing lessons so close to the room.

If you do feel like venturing a little further away, I recommend heading over to Isla Marietas National Park. It is the perfect destination for spending time in nature. When you arrive at the park, consider all your options. There is snorkeling, boating, hiking, and whale watching. Simply choose the activity your family will love the most. And then take pictures so you remember it forever.

Tamarindo, Costa Rica

Tropical rainforests will be waiting for your family when you choose to vacation down in Costa Rica. The charming town of Tamarindo is the perfect place to combine thrilling adventures and quiet time.

Your days can be spent on the beaches of Tamarindo, Grande, and Langosta. The kids can surf while you watch. Although, feel free to jump in the water to join them during their lessons.

Out in the jungle, you can wander through Monteverde’s Cloud Forest or Arenal Volcano National Park. Don’t forget to spend a little time hiking to the beautiful waterfalls Costa Rica is known for.

Best Fall Family Vacations in 2023 - Arenal Volcano in Costa Rica

Las Vegas, Nevada

You can easily take a fall family vacation right here in the US. Las Vegas is an excellent option, even with the kids. You can all walk up and down The Strip, taking in all the sights. There’s the volcano in front of The Mirage, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and of course, the fountains at The Bellagio. Duck into a few of the casinos to see the magic on the inside.

Before the kids start to say they are bored, head over to the theme park at Circus Circus. The kids can go on the rides while you try to win big on the slot machines.

More fun can be had over on Fremont Street. The Downtown Container Park has bridges to cross and a thirty-three-foot slide to go down.

There is no limit to what you can do during a family vacation in Las Vegas.

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

It will be tempting to simply hang out at your resort when you take a fall family vacation in Punta Cana. However, there is so much waiting for you outside the resort perimeter. The entire family will love ziplining high above the ground at Bavaro Adventure Park.

The Indigenous Eyes Ecological Park and Reserve is an excellent place to learn more about nature in Punta Cana. Your time there may even lead you all to go swimming with dolphins and stingrays before you head home.

If you don’t want that much action, you can easily go swimming in a cenote or simply float down a lazy river.

Kauai, Hawaii

The island of Kauai isn’t as busy or touristy as Maui, Oahu, and the Big Island. Your family won’t miss a thing, though, because they can still enjoy every moment spent on Kauai. Hanalei Bay is the best beach for surfing.

If you prefer to actually see more of the island, you can explore by helicopter, boat, or horse. Don’t skip a hike on the Kuilau Trail. The views are incredible, and it is one of the best hikes on the island.

Of course, the best way to truly experience authentic Hawaiian culture is by attending a luau. I can arrange for you to attend the best one on the island.

Dubai

There is so much to see and do during a family vacation in Dubai. If the kids love theme parks, you can visit IMG World of Adventure or the Dubai Parks and Resorts. The latter is a massive theme park complex with all different theme parks.

In between theme park days, you can go shopping at Dubai Mall or relax at Kite Beach. Just make sure you take the time to go snorkeling in the world’s deepest swimming pool.

San Diego, California

Depending on where you live, the temperatures can start to cool down during the fall. If your family is yearning for the warmer days of summer again, head out to San Diego. The sun is almost always shining there. Plus, there are plenty of beaches for some rest and relaxation.

If you don’t want to spend time by the water, head to the San Diego Zoo, San Diego Model Railroad Museum, or the San Diego Air and Space Museum. Walk along the harbor at Embarcadero or head to the Cabrillo National Monument.

Stowe, Vermont

Vermont is known for its fall foliage. That makes it the perfect destination for a fall family vacation. You can stay in any of the charming towns. However, Stowe is one of the best when it comes to making memories with the family.

To really appreciate the beauty of the changing colors, take a hike through Smugglers Notch State Park. Or drive along the Stowe Scenic Auto Road. You’ll find all sorts of yummy fall treats at the Country Store on Main Street. Although, if you are searching for the best apple cider, you must drive to Cold Hollow Cider Mill

These are the best fall family vacations in 2023. I am sure at least one of them has now made it onto your list of places to go for your next family vacation.

So, are you ready to book a fall family vacation and visit one of these destinations?

If you said yes, I would like to invite you to schedule a planning session with me by clicking here. When you click on this link, you will be taken directly to my digital calendar to schedule a time that is convenient for you.

Do you dream of escaping to an island for your next family vacation? Maybe you want to escape the hustle and bustle of life. Escape the crowds from a big city? Or you just want some downtime to enjoy with your family as you all make memories. It is totally possible to get everything you want when you take one of the best island vacations! Today, I am sharing the best island vacations with you.

Best Island Vacations

Crete, Greece

When you decide to take a family vacation in Crete, Greece, you will be amazed at the beauty you see everywhere. This island is full of pink sandy beaches. Ancient history can be found within the charming towns. The best part is the traditions are different than those found on other Greek Islands.

Start your vacation in Crete by walking around the medieval town of Rethymnon. Then venture out to the Cove of Balos and the Samaria Gorge. The pink sand beach of Elafonisi should also be on your list.

Dominica

Instead of vacationing in St. Lucia, head over to Dominica. This island offers the same beauty without the massive crowds. It is the perfect place to walk along beaches covered in volcanic sand.

While at the beach, you can snorkel and scuba dive. Time inland can be spent hiking the many trails on this island. I recommend choosing a few that lead directly to the waterfalls.

Lanai, Hawaii

I love heading to Hawaii for vacation. Lanai is one of the best island vacations because it isn’t as touristy as Maui, Oahu, and the Big Island. Your days can be spent relaxing on the beach or heading off into the sunset during a horseback ride. You may even choose to take a 4×4 to explore the rugged areas of the island.

Snorkeling in Hulopoe Bay is a must. As is visiting Keahiakawelo, which is Lanai’s Garden of the Gods.

Not sure if Lanai is the best Hawaiian Island for your family? See which Hawaiian Island is best for your next family vacation.

Mauritius

Mauritius is an island everyone will love. It has warm tropical weather. Plenty of thrilling adventures. And calm water that is perfect for snorkeling and swimming. Head to the west coast for the best beaches and sunsets.

I recommend swimming with the turtles and dolphins during your vacation in Mauritius. Catamaran cruises around the island are also popular.

Mallorca, Spain

Best Island Vacations - Villages of Mallorca Spain

Mallorca is one of the Balearic Islands in Spain. This island is full of adventures, history, and nature. You get the best of both worlds since you can spend time in the big city and out on the beach.

Start your visit by exploring the Serra de Tramuntana region. It is within that region where you will find stunning Majorcan villages. Visit wineries to find new wines. And definitely spend time with the locals while visiting this piece of paradise.

Lord Howe Island, Australia

Lord Howe Island is quite small at five miles in length. However, don’t let its size dissuade you from visiting. This is an island that offers luxurious accommodations. You can easily indulge in many of the activities if you are a few of the four hundred visitors allowed on the island at a time.

Your days here should be spent hand-feeding the fish at Ned’s Beach. Watching the turtles at Settlement Beach. And mingling with the locals at an event. You can also head out into the water to kayak, swim, or surf. On land, you can hike or do a little stargazing at night.

Galapagos Islands

The Galapagos Islands are the perfect place to visit when you want to see incredible wildlife. I recommend visiting the Galapagos Marine Reserve to see the blue-footed boobie, Galapagos penguin, and marine iguanas.

I also recommend doing a little island hopping while in the Galapagos. This will ensure you can see the many diverse islands within this part of the world. If your travels take you to Floreana’s Post Office Bay, take the time to participate in a centuries-old tradition. Pick up the mail that needs to be taken to the island you are returning to.

Vancouver Island, Canada

Sometimes, you don’t need warm weather for the best island vacations. Vancouver Island in Canada will give you the charming family vacation you are looking for with cooler weather.

The first thing you should know about vacationing on Vancouver Island is you should never spend all your time in the city of Victoria. The island is three hundred miles long. There is plenty to see and do on the entire island!

Head to the small town of Tofino on the west coast. It is one of the best places for outdoor adventures. You can go on whale watching and bear watching tours there.

Tikehau, French Polynesia

A hidden gem in French Polynesia is Tikehau. This remote island will allow you to get as far away from everyone as possible. I recommend staying in an overwater bungalow. This will allow you to see the marine life in the crystal-clear water below.

Spend your time snorkeling, kayaking, and watching the sunset from one of the pink sand beaches. Oh, and start your mornings with fresh croissants. You won’t regret eating them every single morning.

These are the best island vacations. You may want to choose one of them for your next family vacation. Only you will know which one your family will love the most. I can share other options with you if these islands aren’t near the top of your list.

So, are you ready to book a family vacation and visit one of these best islands?

Christmas may be long over, but now is the perfect time to start planning your next Christmas holiday vacation with family. Time away together is perfect for making memories. You can all talk, laugh, and enjoy those small moments. All without the interruptions of work, school, and other obligations. Today, I am going to share a few of the tropical destinations that are perfect for holiday vacations with family.

Tropical Destinations Perfect for Holiday Vacations with Family

Barbados

Barbados may be a small tropical destination. It packs a punch, though, with the number of things you can see and do. Add in the year-round sunshine, delicious food, and multiple beaches, and you will have a family vacation for the record books.

Mysterious shipwrecks dot the water off the coast of Barbados. Get a few thrills by snorkeling or diving around them with a guide. If that doesn’t excite you, maybe swimming with sea turtles or riding a submarine will.

Exploring Harrison’s Cave can be fun. Your family may prefer experiencing the pirate life firsthand on a pirate cruise though.

The Bahamas

The Bahamas is a great tropical destination. The only issue some people have is choosing the best island for their family vacation.

Over on Grand Bahama Island, you can all explore Lucayan National Park. Pink Sands Beach can be found on Harbour Island. The color comes from the coral insects with red and pink shells.

In Nassau, it is all about shopping at the Straw Market. Although, most families enjoy the waterslides at Atlantis Paradise Island more. If you aren’t in the mood for waterslides, try relaxing on Cabbage Beach. Everyone else can get their energy out in the water.

If you want to spend time in the ocean, check out Thunderball Grotto. It is an underwater cave system that can be found to the west of Staniel Cay. This is the perfect spot for swimming and snorkeling with marine life.

Tropical Destinations - Galleon Beach in Antigua

Antigua

The beaches on the island of Antigua are definitely the highlight of any family vacation. And honestly, you could spend hours relaxing on them as the kids swim.

If your family can’t fathom that much downtime, hike to Shirley Heights for panoramic views of the island. Grab a few selfies at Devil’s Bridge. Or learn about the history of the largest sugar plantation at Betty’s Hope.

You might even want to do a little shopping at Nelson’s Dockyard. No kid can turn down spending money! I recommend eating these local foods too.

Saint Lucia

There are plenty of family-friendly adventures waiting for you in Saint Lucia. This tropical destination boasts lots of outdoor activities. Start with a trip to the Rodney Bay area. While there, you can spend time on Reduit Beach before exploring Pigeon Island National Landmark.

The Pitons are perfect for those unique pictures you need from a family vacation. You can hike Gros Piton to see the views from the top. However, I urge you only to hike this trail if you are an experienced hiker. It can be dangerous for those who are not used to hiking.

A less strenuous activity would be wandering around Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens. Or driven by the active volcano of Sulphur Springs.

Jamaica

Hanging out at your resort may seem like the best thing to do while on a family vacation in Jamaica. However, this tropical destination has so much to offer if you venture further out on the island.

Dunn’s River Falls and Park is close to Ocho Rios. If you are staying in Negril, then your family will want to spend time on Seven Mile Beach. And it is all about golfing over in Montego Bay.

Other fun family activities include ATV rides and ziplining adventures. Oh, your family may want to check out the Bob Marley Museum too.

These are tropical destinations that are perfect for holiday vacations with family. I have shared other ways to connect with family during the holidays. You don’t need to spend another Christmas at home, especially if you live in a colder climate. Instead, I can plan a fabulous vacation your entire family will love.

So, are you ready to book a holiday vacation with your family at a tropical destination?

If you said yes, I would like to invite you to schedule a planning session with me by clicking here. When you click on this link, you will be taken directly to my digital calendar to schedule a time that is convenient for you.
