Today is your day because you are fully vaccinated!
You’re off to Great Places!
You’re off and away!
You have your suitcase all packed.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself
in any direction you choose.
You’re on your way around the world. You know you have options for where you should head.
And YOU are the guy who’ll decide where to go!
You’ll look all over the map. Look it over with care.
About some destinations, you will say, “I don’t choose to go there.”
With your suitcase all packed and your shoes full of feet,
you’re too smart to go to some destination you have no interest to meet.
And you may not find any places
You don’t want to visit.
In that case, of course,
you’ll head straight to the nearest plane.
It’s a big world out there
in the wide-open air.
Out there, things can happen
and frequently do
to travelers as savvy
and experienced as you.
And then things start to happen,
And one destination becomes two.
Just go right along.
You’ll love every minute of the places you go.
OH!
THE PLACES YOU’LL GO!
You’ll be on your way to the Bahamas!
You’ll be seeing great sights in Iceland!
You’ll join the high fliers
who soar to Greece, Cyprus, and St. Martin.
You won’t lag behind, because you’ll have the vaccine.
You’ll pass the whole world and you’ll soon be in new areas like Croatia and Estonia and won’t want to go home.
Wherever you fly, you’ll most likely bypass the PCR tests and quarantines.
Wherever you go, you will skip the downtime and head towards the nearest attractions and local hot spots.
Except when you don’t.
Because, sometimes, you won’t.
I’m sorry to say so
but, sadly, it’s true
that PCR tests
and Quarantines
can happen to you.
You can get all hung up
in a pricke-ly form.
And you might get upset because,
You’ll be left in a room.
You’ll come down out from your room
Feeling out of sorts and behind on schedule without any results.
And the chances are, then,
that you’ll be in a Travel Slump.
And when you’re in a Travel Slump,
you’re not in the mood to figure it out.
Un-slumping yourself
is not easily done.
You will come to a place where you don’t know where to go.
Some destinations are lighted like the Seychelles Islands and Guatemala. But some are still dark like Spain, Italy, and so many others.
A place you could find yourself isolated and alone!
Do you dare stay out and miss out on all the fun? Do you dare to go in and lose time exploring?
How much can you lose when in quarantine? How much can you win when you choose a person to assist with vacation planning?
And IF you go in, should you choose a travel agent or travel advisor…
Or one of each or none at all? Or maybe, just maybe, you choose the one who will make your vacation dreams come true?
You know, the one who can keep you from quarantine and show you the world?
Simple it is, and I’m sure you’ll agree, a travel advisor is always the best when it comes to planning trips to St. Lucia, Maldives, Grenada, Belize, and the rest of the world.
You can get so confused
that you’ll start to panic
planning vaccinated vacations at a break-necking pace
and grinding on for hours through the world wide web,
headed, I fear toward a destination that will have you at a standstill.
The Waiting Place….
For people just waiting in quarantine.
Waiting for their time to be up
Or the test result to arrive, or finding the papers to prove the results
From the test taken a whole three days before.
You know, from that test you took that should prove you are fine,
All the waiting around for a YES or a NO
So, you don’t need to be stuck in a hotel room for any length of time.
No more waiting for travel time.
Skip the waiting today
Simply work with a travel advisor to see where you can go,
Because your options are plenty once you have had the poke.
Unless you prefer, perhaps, all the waiting you do
For test results and mandatory quarantines to be over
So, you can see what is waiting for you,
In Barbados, Aruba, or Ecuador, perhaps.

PCR tests and quarantines are not for you!
Somehow, you’ll escape
All that waiting and staying
You’ll find the best destinations like Belize, Chile, or Israel
where locals and travelers are mingling out in the streets.
With social distancing in place,
You’ll put a mask on and cover your face!
Ready for anything you discover today.
Ready because you know there’s memories to be made!
Oh, the places you’ll go! There are too many destinations to see!
There are tours to be taken. There are restaurants to choose.
And the magical things you find in those places
Will make you the winning-est traveler of all.
Fame! You’ll be as famous as any traveler can be,
With all your friends envious of what you can see.
Except when they aren’t
Because they will be right there beside you.
I’m afraid that a solo vacation might not happen
Because your friends and family will be vaccinated too.
That’s okay though,
‘cause friends and family create magical moments you will never forget.
All Alone you will not be!
Whether you like it or not,
Alone will be something
You won’t see quite a lot.
And when you’re alone, there’s a very good chance
You’ll meet head to destinations that the kids would never give a second glance.
There are some destinations, like Antigua, Costa Rica, and Jamaica,
Those are better for solo travelers like yourself.
But on you will go
Though the extra people may slow you down.
On you will go
Though your kids may growl.
On you will go
To Brazil’s beaches.
Onward up many long hiking trails in Egypt,
Though your legs may get sore
And your sneakers may leak.
On and on you will hike,
And I know you’ll hike far in Colombia
And face each one of your dream destinations
Wherever they are.
You’ll get mixed up in cities and towns, of course,
As you already know.
You’ll get mixed up exploring Guam and Chile and Montenegro
With many strange people and places as you go.
So be sure where you travel.
