Planning a memorable family vacation where everyone can enjoy themselves can be a challenge. But in 2025, the best destinations for multigenerational travel are making it easier than ever to create unforgettable experiences for the whole family. Today, I am sharing some family friendly vacation destinations with you. These destinations offer sun-soaked beaches, cultural experiences, and outdoor adventures. Basically, something for everyone in your family to enjoy, while creating lifelong memories. Let’s start exploring the top destinations that cater to multigenerational travelers.

Best Destinations for Multigenerational Travel in 2025: Top Family Friendly Getaways

Alaska – Best Destination for Multigenerational Travel in 2025

Best Destinations for Multigenerational Travel in 2025: Top Family Friendly Getaways - Family Near a Glacier in Alaska

One of the best destinations for multigenerational travel in 2025 is Alaska. A vacation in Alaska promises adventures filled with discovery, shared experiences, and lasting memories.

There are quite a few options for how your family experiences this state. You can simply fly to one of the major cities. Or you can cruise to different ports.

If you choose the latter, I recommend small ship cruises. These cruise ships can reach areas where the larger cruise ships can’t reach. Plus, your family will receive more personalized experience options like kayaking near glaciers and guided shore excursions.

Other activities to consider during your family vacation in Alaska include dog sledding, wildlife viewing in Denali and Kenai Fjords National Parks, and guided tours of glaciers.

Another fabulous way to explore Alaska is to take a ride on the Alaska Railroad. This train travels almost five hundred miles throughout the state’s spectacular landscape. Your family can disembark at the numerous stops to participate in activities.

Check out these bucket list destinations in Alaska for your next family vacation.

Galapagos Islands

The Galapagos Islands are a dream destination for many travelers. So, if you are traveling with multiple generations, you might as well choose a dream destination for creating memories!

Once-in-a-lifetime adventures can be experienced during a vacation in the Galapagos Islands. Plus, I can help arrange family friendly and eco-friendly tours for your multigenerational vacation.

Consider a visit to the Charles Darwin Research Station to learn about conservation as a family. Island hopping excursions allow everyone to see more of the islands, while exploring diverse ecosystems together.

Of course, you won’t want to skip snorkeling with sea lions and spending time with giant tortoises while on vacation with your family in the Galapagos Islands.

Use my travel guide to the Galapagos Islands for your multigenerational vacation.

Lisbon, Portugal

Best Destinations for Multigenerational Travel in 2025: Top Family Friendly Getaways - Tram 28 in Lisbon, Portugal

Lisbon is a city that offers charm, cultural activities, and family friendly activities. Which is why it is one of the best destinations for multigenerational travel in 2025.

I recommend starting with a ride on Tram 28 to check out the city’s neighborhoods. This is an excellent way to learn where restaurants and attractions are located throughout the city. After all, you never know when you will see something interesting to return to later.

The whole family will love spending time at Oceanário de Lisboa. This is one of the largest aquariums in Europe. You should plan on spending at least a few hours there, as you all check out the marine life.

A family friendly Fado show is an excellent way to listen to traditional Portuguese music during your vacation.

Banff, Canada

You won’t need to travel too far from the US to experience one of the best family-friendly vacation destinations in 2025. Banff, Canada offers year-round family fun. And this year, there are more family oriented outdoor activities within Banff National Park.

The entire family will love riding the Banff Gondola. Check out incredible views during your ride. There are also interactive exhibits that will capture everyone’s attention.

Everyone should be able to walk the trails at Johnston Canyon. These are easy scenic walks that are ideal for families.

If you want to see this area of Canada from a different perspective, go canoeing on Lake Louise. No matter what you do during your family vacation in Banff, keep an eye out for bears, elk, and mountain goats. Wildlife is everywhere in this area, so it is almost guaranteed you will see something.

Sydney, Australia

Sydney, Australia is one of the best destinations for multigenerational travel in 2025. Although, you can visit anywhere in this country with your family and have an amazing time.

If you want to start your vacation in Sydney on a more relaxed note, I recommend taking a Sydney Harbour cruise. This is an excellent way to see the city’s sights from a different perspective. Plus, you get to relax after your long flight.

While younger kids may not appreciate the cultural aspects of the Sydney Opera House, you should still take the time for a behind the scenes tour. If a performance is happening during your visit, the grandparents can enjoy it one night. Or the grandparents can watch the kids while the parents attend.

A day at the beach is a must while on a family vacation in Australia. Bondi Beach is one of the best beaches for families. While you can spend the entire day on the sand building sandcastles, there are other options. Consider a coastal walk. Or take the family-friendly surfing lessons that are offered.

Check out these other family friendly activities in Australia for your vacation.

Yellowstone National Park

Family Walking Around the Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone National Park

There are sixty-three national parks to visit in the US. However, Yellowstone National Park is one of the best family friendly vacation destinations. This is because there are plenty of activities your family can do outdoors during your vacation.

I recommend taking one of the wildlife safaris to see bison, elk, and bears. The guides will ensure you don’t miss any of the wildlife that lives within this national park.

The kids will love the engaging activities offered with the junior ranger programs. And parents and grandparents will love learning along with the kids or sharing the knowledge they already have.

Some hikes in Yellowstone National Park may be too difficult for older adults or those with limited mobility. Thankfully, you can drive to sights like the Old Faithful Geyser. You will need to time your visit properly though, or you will miss the eruption of this geyser.

Costa Rica – Unique Best Destination for Multigenerational Travel in 2025

Eco-adventures and nature-filled experiences will bring your family closer during a vacation in Costa Rica. The activity that should be at the top of your list during your family vacation in Costa Rica is visiting Arenal Volcano National Park. You can hike along the trails there before soaking in the natural hot springs.

Depending on the time of year you visit, your family may be able to witness sea turtle nesting in Tortuguero National Park. This unforgettable moment happens between July and October each year. However, peak activity occurs between July and August.

Guided wildlife tours are available in the Monteverde Cloud Forest. Ziplining adventures are another option in this area of Costa Rica.

The kids will beg for time at the beach during your Costa Rica vacation. The beach Manuel Antonio is your best option. The kids can play in the gentle waves, while the adults relax on the sand.

Barcelona, Spain

Is your family searching for diverse activities for your multigenerational vacation in 2025? If you are, I recommend adding Barcelona, Spain to your list of places to visit. Barcelona offers a vibrant mix of architecture, culture, and beachside fun.

Adults can wander around Park Güell to see the whimsical designs of Gaudi. The kids can climb and play during this time, so they won’t be bored as the adults marvel at what they see.

When everyone gets hungry, I recommend going to La Boqueria Market. This market has a lively atmosphere. And you can try many of the local delicacies, which ensures you will no longer be hungry. Oh, and those samples may get your kids to try new foods they wouldn’t try back home.

If your family has the energy to stay out later one night, head over to the Magic Fountain of Montjuïc. The light and water show at this fountain will captivate the attention of everyone in your family.

There will be plenty of time for you to lounge on a beach while on a family vacation in Barcelona. However, the most family friendly beach is Barceloneta Beach. So, you may want to choose to visit that one the most during your vacation.

Check out the best things to do in Barcelona during your multigenerational vacation.

Hawaii

Multigenerational Family on the Beach While on Vacation

All the Hawaiian Islands are perfect for family vacations. However, it is important you decide which Hawaiian Island is perfect for your multigenerational vacation in 2025. I usually recommend Maui and Oahu. But we can discuss which islands will best fit your family’s needs.

Pearl Harbor Memorial is usually one of the favorite attractions for a Hawaiian family vacation. This tour will share many invaluable insights into that historical time.

Interactive experiences showcasing Hawaiian traditions can be seen at the Polynesian Cultural Center. And there is no better way to explore the Molokini Crater than going on a snorkeling adventure.

Surfing is a popular activity in Waikiki, and the rest of Hawaii. Adventurous members of your family will want to take lessons, while the others sit back and watch.

Rome, Italy

Imagine visiting a destination where you can experience the past each day, while enjoying delicious cuisine in between each stop. It is completely possible when you choose to take your multigenerational vacation in Rome, Italy. Plus, this best family friendly vacation destination promises enhanced guided tours and family friendly museums for 2025.

I recommend having me secure your spot for a Colosseum tour while I am planning your multigenerational vacation. This will ensure you can skip the line when you arrive. And you will get to enjoy an interactive tour filled with gladiator stories that will thrill each family member.

I can do the same for Vatican City, so you don’t spend most of your time waiting in line. This will give you more time to admire the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica.

A bike ride through the Villa Borghese Gardens will allow you to see a beautiful spot in the city. I recommend bringing a picnic lunch with you to extend your time in these gardens.

There are plenty of cooking classes you can take while on a family vacation in Rome. If your kids are old enough, you can all take one together to learn how to make fresh pasta.

London, England

Harry Potter fans will love going on vacation to London, England. So, if your kids are hesitant to spend time with you and their grandparents, tell them you are going on a Harry Potter adventure. Their moods will change dramatically. Especially when you have me schedule a Harry Potter Studio Tour for your family.

I can also arrange tours of London, so you can all see Big Ben, London Eye, Buckingham Palace, and Kensington Gardens. Over at the Tower of London, take the interactive tours to ensure history is brought to life for your family.

A day of rest can be experienced in Hyde Park. You can all enjoy a family picnic or go paddle boating.

Orlando, Florida – Popular Best Destination for Multigenerational Travel in 2025

You must have known that Orlando would be on this list of best destinations for multigenerational travel in 2025. After all, it is home to Disney World and Universal Studios.

There are new attractions and activities coming to both these theme parks in 2025. Grandparents will feel nostalgic, as they take the grandkids on the rides they took you on when you were little. Teens will love the thrilling ride options. And you will all stand and wave, as characters walk by during the parades.

Over at Discovery Cove, you can swim with dolphins and snorkel in tropical lagoons. Creating memories will be easy when you take the time to visit with the marine life at Discovery Cove.

There are plenty of nearby attractions to consider when you take a family vacation in Orlando. Kennedy Space Center is one of those attractions. This is an excellent option for anyone who dreams of flying to the moon one day.

Check out these amazing things to do in Orlando during your next multigenerational vacation.

When it comes to planning a memorable vacation that caters to all ages, the best destinations for multigenerational travel in 2025 offer something for everyone. These destinations create opportunities for families to bond, learn, and relax together. Whether your family prefers cultural experiences, outdoor adventures, or simply soaking up the sun on the beach, these family friendly vacation spots ensure every generation has an unforgettable experience. I recommend considering these remarkable destinations to create lasting memories that will be cherished for years to come.

Have you always been fascinated by Queen Elizabeth II? Did you always want to take a family vacation in London and stand outside Buckingham Palace? Or maybe even go inside the palace if you happened to visit on a day the Queen wasn’t in residence? Well, England may have a King instead of a Queen now. But that doesn’t mean you can’t go over and experience a vacation in London with your family. There are so many things to do in England. Today, I am sharing a sample 6-day itinerary with you to show you some of the potential things you can do there. I can easily personalize an itinerary for your family, so you only see the sights you want to see the most. That way you can make those memories that matter together!

Experience a Fabulous Vacation in London with Family in 6 Days

Day One: London

You will arrive at the airport in London on your first day of vacation. You will be transported to your hotel to check in. Then you will have the rest of the day to walk around or use the amenities at your hotel.

Day Two: London

Experience a Fabulous Vacation in London with Family in 6 Days - Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace

Day two of your family vacation in London will have you seeing the main attractions in the city. Start in the West End to see the Royal Albert Hall. From there, go to the City of Westminster and the City of London.

Along the way, you will see the Marble Arch, Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace, Harrods, and Trafalgar Square.

The highlight of your day will be riding the London Eye. A little preplanning by myself will have you skipping the main queue via fast-track admission. From the top of the London Eye, you will see panoramic views of the entire city.

Day Three: London

The morning is yours to enjoy at your leisure. This is a perfect day to sleep in a little if you wish.

In the afternoon, you will be taken to a theater to watch a live musical performance.

Day Four: Bath and Stonehenge

You will escape the city streets on day four of your family vacation in London. Your family will be taken to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Bath and Stonehenge.

Your family adventure will begin in Stonehenge. The stone pillars were discovered more than five thousand years ago. Explore and have a few discussions of what your family thinks this site is about.

I will tell you that some people think Stonehenge is a ritualistic burial site, place of sun worship, and a healing sanctuary. See what ideas your kids have. And remember, there is never a wrong answer!

Over in Bath, you will see the Bath Abbey and Roman Baths and Temple. It is at the latter where you will see the Sacred Spring. It is the only hot spring in England.

After a long day, you will be taken back to your hotel for a relaxing evening.

Day Five: London

Most of your last day in London will be yours to explore on your own. It is simple to travel like a local in England

On this evening, your family will embark on a delicious dinner cruise on the River Thames. This is one of the best ways to see London from a different perspective. Your family will make tons of memories, as the lights turn on throughout the city.

The best part is you will dine in a glass room, so you won’t miss any of the sights you are passing by while you are eating.

Day Six: London

You will want to let me know what time you want your flight from London back home. Early flights will mean skipping a few last-minute sightseeing stops. You may want a later flight, so you can do a little more shopping.

There are so many other things you can do with your family to make memories while on vacation in London. I can discuss many of those with you, after I get an idea of what your family is interested in and likes to do while away from home. I can then create a personalized itinerary for your family trip to London.

So, are you ready to have me create a personalized family vacation itinerary for your trip to London or another destination?

Heading out on a family vacation in England, Wales, and Scotland can take you on adventures you didn’t know were possible. Yes, you can see the highlights in London or the beauty of the Cotswolds. There are so many amazing things to do in England. You can check out the castles in Scotland too. However, did you know these three areas are some of the best places to see Roman ruins? Imagine spending time with your family, as you make memories and check out history at the same time. I recommend beginning with the Roman ruins in England. Then venture over to Wales and Scotland to finish the journey of a lifetime. Today, I am going to share the Roman ruins in these areas that should be near the top of your list.

Roman Ruins in England, Wales, and Scotland

Hadrian’s Wall

Okay, so many people have heard about Hadrian’s Wall. This is why I decided I might as well put it at the top of this list. If you have heard of this Roman ruin, or even if you haven’t, you must know that walking along it is considered a must-do amongst travelers around the world.

This Roman ruin was constructed during the 1st century. It took three years to build this wall that stretched eighty miles and was twenty feet high. Some of the wall was used to build roads, fences, and homes in later years. However, in the 1830s, a landowner saved the remaining portions that were still standing.

Recently, the National Trust acquired almost all the land Hadrian’s Wall sits on. A visit to walk along the remaining wall should also include a couple of other stops. I recommend checking out the Birdoswald Roman Fort, Corbridge Roman Town, Chesters Roman Fort and Museum, and the Housesteads Roman Fort.

Roman Ruins in England, Wales, and Scotland - Hadrian's Wall

Fishborne Roman Palace

The Fishborne Roman Palace is considered the largest Roman villa in Britain. A visit to these Roman ruins in England will have you seeing the largest collection of mosaics in their original locations. If you spot the one with cupid on a dolphin, you will notice the artist signed it. You can also see pottery, jewelry, and coins during your visit.

Chedworth Roman Villa

This is another Roman villa that is known for its mosaic floors that have been carefully preserved. This villa is surrounded by Roman walls. During your visit, you will also find yourself checking out bath houses, a water shrine, and underfloor heating. Don’t forget to stop at the Victorian museum to see the artifacts.

Caerwent Roman Town

Caerwent Roman Town is located in Wales. These Roman ruins include a basilica, dwellings, and a forum. Guides are available for tours on certain days of the week. Simply let me know if you are interested in a guided tour and I will arrange for one as I am personalizing your family vacation itinerary.

Dolaucothi Gold Mines

Well, if you are going to check out Roman ruins in England, Wales, and Scotland, you might as well see a few gold mines too! These mines are located in Wales, and they were in use in the 1930s. Your family can explore this Roman mine, as well as the nearby Victorian mine. You’ll need to wear miner’s gear to go underground, but it’s totally worth it for the experience.

Vindolanda

This is one of the most important Roman archaeological sites in all of Europe. Archaeologists can still be seen excavating this site. This means you may get to see them working during your visit. And don’t worry, if they aren’t there, you can still see many of their finds.

The pottery is all laid out within the museum. You can also see wafer thin slices of wood that are known as tablets. There is writing on those tablets. They are thought to be one of the earliest known examples of writing in this country.

Corinium Museum

The Corinium Museum displays many of the items that have been discovered in the area of Cirencester. This area was once the Roman city of Corinium. This is one of the best museums for younger children. There are plenty of interactive and hands-on displays to keep everyone busy.

Make sure you take the time to check out the 2nd century mosaic floor inside the museum. It’s worth a few minutes of your attention.

Antonine Wall

Antonine Wall in Scotland is quite similar to Hadrian’s Wall. This wall is only thirty-seven miles long. The wall is now part of the Frontiers of the Roman Empire World Heritage Site. If you visit the Hunterian Museum, you can check out The Antonine Wall: Rome’s Final Frontier exhibit. It is full of items that were located at the western end of the wall.

These are some of the best Roman ruins in England, Wales, and Scotland. You obviously don’t need to see them all during your family vacation. But if one of them piques your interest, I can always include it as I am personalizing your family vacation itinerary.

So, are you ready to have me create a personalized family vacation itinerary for your next trip to one of these destinations or somewhere else?

Charming towns, bustling cities, and afternoon tea are only three of the reasons why you should take a family vacation in England. There are so many others. Although, you may not find your favorite reasons for vacationing in this country until you have explored it in depth. Therefore, I am going to share some of the best things to do in England with you. As you are perusing this list, gather your thoughts as to which options your family will love to do the most. I can then use those ideas as I am personalizing your family vacation itinerary for England.

Best Things to Do in England

Go On a Walking Tour of London

One of the best things to do in England is taking a walking tour of London. This walking tour will allow you to get the lay of the land so to speak. During your walk, you will see sights like Westminster Abbey, the London Eye, Buckingham Palace, and Big Ben.

After your walking tour, you can choose to revisit the attractions you want to spend more time at.

If you don’t want to do the walking tour, there is also a Hop On Hop Off Bus Tour available. Simply let me know which one you prefer for your family vacation in England, and I will make all the arrangements.

You may even be interested in learning how to travel like a local in England

Check Out Stonehenge

Best Things to Do in England - Stonehenge

One of the most mysterious historical sites in England is Stonehenge. This is a World Heritage Site. It is an impressive area that includes the infamous stone circle, ancient houses, and a museum. This is an easy day trip from London.

Take a Walk Along the Jurassic Coast

The vistas along the Jurassic Coast are spectacular. This is another World Heritage Site in England. You will see quite a few of them during your family vacation.

This coastline stretches for ninety-five miles. You will love searching for fossils during your visit to this coastline. I recommend taking a guided walk, because it will allow you to learn a lot about the area.

Relax in a Mineral Bath

The Roman Baths in Bath are now in ruins. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t have your thermal spa day while on a family vacation in England. After a tour of the Roman baths, soak in one of the two mineral pools at the spa nearby. Your session will last for two hours, which is plenty of time to feel nice and relaxed.

Go Punting in Cambridge

Have you ever heard of punting? No worries! Most people haven’t! Punting is where you guide a boat while using a pole. You can tackle this adventure on your own. Or you can take one of the punting boat tours. I recommend the latter, as it allows you to enjoy the views of Cambridge without the hassle of guiding the boat.

Take a Tour of Windsor Castle

Best Things to Do in England - Windsor Castle

Self-guided tours of Windsor Castle are available throughout the year. It is best to purchase your tickets in advance, because they can sell out quickly. During your tour, you can see many of the rooms within the castle. Your ticket also includes a peek into St. George’s Chapel and time on the grounds.

Go On a Drive Through Cotswold

The villages that make up Cotswold in England are all small and charming. You may not have time to visit them all during your family vacation. But just seeing a few of them are considered one of the best things to do in England.

While in the villages, stop into the small shops and local tea rooms. It is an excellent way to mingle with the locals.

Go for a Hike in the Lake District

The Lake District is located in Cumbria. This picturesque destination is full of mountains and lakes. Hiking the trails in this area will have you experiencing the beauty and tranquility of the countryside. I recommend hiking the Roman High Street Circuit or going to the summit of Scafell Pike.

Although, if your family loves to hike and has the experience, consider tackling the Three Peaks Challenge. During this challenge, your family will hike to the summits of Scafell Pike, Wales’ Snowdon, and Scotland’s Ben Nevis. Yes, that means you are in three different countries during your family vacation. Talk about memorable moments!

Enjoy Afternoon Tea

You can enjoy afternoon tea in England almost anywhere. If you are looking for a high-end afternoon tea though, I recommend the one at Cliveden House Hotel. They offer afternoon tea seven days a week. Champagne is included for those who are old enough to drink. And if you order too many of the delicious goodies, they can be boxed up to take back to your hotel.

Take a Tour of the Canterbury Castle

There are plenty of historic cathedrals in England. You could honestly spend your entire vacation in England touring them all. This cathedral was originally constructed in 597. It was completely rebuilt during the 11th century.

If you only have time to explore one of the cathedrals in England, make Canterbury your top choice.

Check Out Hadrian’s Wall

This ancient fortification was constructed in the year 122. The wall goes from Ravenglass to Wallsend. During your visit, you can see the parts of the wall that are still standing. Those portions are the ones that were reconstructed back in the 19th century.

Visit the Home of Shakespeare

William Shakespeare lived at Stratford-upon-Avon. This home can be found in Warwickshire. His living quarters have been carefully preserved. Your family can see many of his personal belongings during your visit.

Go On a Harry Potter Studio Tour

Harry Potter fans will love taking the Harry Potter Studio Tour at Leavesden Studios. During this tour, your family can wander around the Great Hall, see a few of the original costumes, and peek into the shop fronts on Diagon Alley.

Make sure you have time in your schedule to learn how to fly on your own broomstick and drink a pint or two of butterbeer. Those are the things you will remember the most from your family vacation in England.

Watch the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace

Best Things to Do in England - Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace

One of the best things to do in England is watch the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace. The days and times for this change throughout the year. You can find the times during your family vacation in England on The Household Division website

When you are in front of Buckingham Palace, check to see if the Royal Standard is flying above. If it is, then the King is in residence that day.

Visit a Museum or Two

Many of the best museums in London are actually free to visit. This is good news if you want to check them out but know your family won’t last more than an hour or two in each one. Start at the British Museum. This is where you can see the Rosetta Stone.

After that, consider going to the Natural History Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum, Imperial War Museum, and the Science Museum.

Listen to Big Ben

You can hear the bells from Big Ben in many places around London. However, you still must see this clock up close during your family vacation. This must-see attraction is within the Elizabeth Tower.

The great bell chimes every hour. Quarter bells chime every fifteen minutes. The best time to see this clock is at night when each of the faces are lit up.

Visit the Winston Churchill’s War Rooms

These war rooms were where Churchill hid, worked, and eventually lived during World War II. During your visit, you can wander through the open corridors and rooms. Most of the rooms still have personal and business items on display. It is the best way to learn how Churchill and his staff spent their days and nights during this time in history.

These are some of the best things to do in England during your family vacation. There are so many other things to do in England that you can add to your itinerary though. We can discuss all the possibilities while I create a personalized family vacation itinerary for your next trip.

So, are you ready to have me create a personalized family vacation itinerary for your trip to England or another destination?

The country of England is often known for its history, afternoon tea, and famous attractions. Oh, and you can’t forget the Royal Family. However, there is so much more than the larger cities in England. The Cotswold region is considered one of the most magical places. It is a small, fairytale region that is simply gorgeous. Actually, the Cotswolds have even been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You may have already seen some of Cotswold in movies or television shows. After all, it has been chosen as the setting in numerous shows and movies over the years. Although, nothing seems to beat visiting this region in person. This is why you should enjoy a family vacation in Cotswold.  Plus, it is so simple to travel like a local in England

Enjoy a Family Vacation in the Cotswolds

There are so many amazing things to do while enjoying a family vacation in Cotswold. But today, I am going to share the villages you should consider visiting during your Cotswold family trip. This way, you can get an idea of where you want to spend your time during this special trip to England.

Cirencester

The name of this village may be difficult to pronounce, but it is one of the best ones to visit while on vacation in Cotswold. Cirencester is one of the larger villages too. Therefore, it is also one of the most popular.

During your time in this village in Cotswold, you can visit the Corinium Museum, check out the ruins of the Roman Amphitheatre, and see the Parish Church of St. John the Baptist. A picnic at Cirencester Park is also a nice way to spend a couple of hours of your day.

Upper and Lower Slaughter

Don’t let the names of these villages fool you. They are actually quite charming and beautiful. The villages of Upper and Lower Slaughter are only one mile apart. They meet at the River Eye.

You will find more attractions in Lower Laughter. However, that doesn’t mean you should skip over the upper village since they are so close together.

Broadway

Broadway is one of the best villages in Cotswold for food and antique lovers. Yet, there is so much more for families here. Little ones will enjoy all the family-friendly activities inside Activity Park.

Older kids will want to check out Clay Pigeon Shooting, while adults will prefer the Cotswold Distillery Tour. The best views of the village can be seen from the top of the Broadway Tower. You simply need to climb three stories to see those views.

Burford

Burford is the village that is known as the Gateway to the Cotswolds. A walk down High Street will allow your family to reach a medieval stone bridge. That bridge crosses directly over the River Windrush.

A couple of hours can be spent at the Burford Tolsey Museum. Or at the Burford Garden Center. But if the kids get bored, you can all head into the boutiques and antique stores to do a little shopping.

Chipping Campden

Chipping Campden is another one of the larger villages in Cotswold. This village hosts many of the festivals within Cotswold throughout the year. If you want to attend one, simply let me know, and we can plan your family trip to Cotswold accordingly.

Stow-on-the-Wold

You may feel as if you have stepped into a Tolkien novel when you enter the village of Stow-on-the-Wold. Especially when you see the two yew trees outside St. Edward’s Church.

Your family will find plenty to do in this small village. Start by wandering through the bookstores. Then hang out in the market square or a local café with a cup of coffee or tea. Don’t forget to walk around and admire the golden cottages.

Painswick

Painswick is one of the most photogenic villages in Cotswold. Make sure your camera’s batteries are charged before you head to the churchyard. There are almost one hundred yew trees located there. They all create a unique backdrop.

Another stunning place to visit in Painswick is Rococo Garden.

Bourton-on-the-Water

If your family loves toys, you should take the time to visit the Cotswold Motoring Museum and Toy Collection in Bourton-on-the-Water. Another fun family activity is tackling the Labyrinth at the Dragonfly Maze. It shouldn’t take you too many hours to find your way out!

These are the best villages to visit when you are enjoying a family vacation in Cotswold. Of course, I can add any of the other villages in Cotswold when I personalize your family vacation there.
