Beach vacations with the family can be a blast! You can all decide to spend days at the beach. During that time, you can swim, build sandcastles, collect seashells, and so much more. Or you can simply relax and work on your tan. You may be wondering where the best beaches are for your next family vacation. Well, there are plenty to choose from. Today, I am going to focus on the best things to do in Ocean City, Maryland. This beautiful area will have you enjoying time with your family, as you make a few memories that matter.

Best Things to Do in Ocean City, Maryland

Go Swimming at Ocean City Beach

Okay, so beach vacations with the family mean heading to the beach. In Ocean City, Maryland, that means spending at least one day at Ocean City Beach.

There are more than ten miles of coastline to walk along and plenty of water for swimming and surfing. Don’t forget to walk along the boardwalk too. The boardwalk is full of shops, restaurants, arcades, and rides. Basically, a kids’ idea of paradise!

Head to a Theme Park

There are a couple different theme park type destinations in Ocean City, Maryland. The most popular one is Jolly Roger. You will find one Jolly Roger at the Pier and another one at 30th Street.

If your kids want more adventures at theme parks, consider taking them to Splash Mountain, Trimper’s Rides, and SpeedWorld. They all offer plenty of action.

Candy Kitchen is the perfect place to stop after a meal or to grab a few sweets for the rest of the day. This sweet shop is full of taffy, fudge, truffles, gummies, chocolate, cake pops, and more.

Have your family decide on their favorites and then tell them they can only have half of what they want. This will prevent a sugar high and give you an excuse to visit again before you head home.

Have Fun at Northside Park

It is all about having fun at Northside Park. And maybe a little competition too. The fields are perfect for playing soccer and baseball. An indoor gym has everything you need for tennis, volleyball, and basketball.

Fishing is possible at the lagoon. And don’t skip walking along one of the nature trails. Afterwards, you can all eat a picnic lunch at a gazebo or let the kids run wild at the playground.

Fly a Kite

Have you ever flown a kite? Do you want to do this activity with your kids?

If you said yes, head over to The Kite Loft. They have everything you need to make your kite flying dreams come true. The staff can even tell you the best places to fly a kite and which places to avoid.

Experience Art at the Ocean Gallery

You will be mesmerized by the Ocean Gallery from the moment you arrive. The colorful building was created using antique parts. None of the parts fit together, so there are jagged angles and crazy color combinations.

Once you tear yourself away from the outside and walk in, you will be met with even more amazing works of art. Every display is unique and includes items like posters, license plates, and portraits.

You never know what you will see inside the Ocean Gallery. Or on the outside for that matter.

Head Over to Assateague Island National Seashore
